SLV Residents Completed 2,283 Miles in 2025 Walk Challenge

ON FEBRUARY 12, several of the SLV and area residents gathered to celebrate the 2025 Walk Challenge
plus. The event involved walking: all the streets in SLV; four local trails; and the two golf course paths
within one year. Over 50 people participated, with a hearty group of 16 who completed the challenge.
Total mileage walked by the group was 2,283 miles.
The Outdoor Adventure Club sponsors this walk challenge every other year, but the effort and walking
are all by participants. In completing the challenge, participants need to walk about 116 miles. In
addition to getting fresh air and exercise, participants get an appreciation for the neighborhoods
throughout Savannah Lakes Village. This year, 4 local trails were added (Rail Trail; Monticello North Trail,
Monticello South Trail, and Shenandoah Trail).
If you see some folks wearing their walk challenge shirts out and about, please give them a shout out for
completing this adventure.
